Whale Watching Boat Trips

and enjoy a whole day whale watching around our Scottish Islands.

Go Whale Watching in the beautiful plankton rich unpolluted waters around Ardnamurchan peninsula and the Inner Isles. See the small rocky islands with white sandy beaches surrounded by beautiful turquoise sea.
Using Skippers Tom or Andy Jackson's skill and years of experience plus Laurenca's navigation and depth sounding equipment, we can locate cetaceans in the deep waters off our shores. Whales, Dolphins and Porpoise, also Europe's largest fish - the Basking Shark are all to be found here.

Then on to visit the Island of Muck which the MacEwan family has owned since 1896. There are lovely walks, beautiful white sandy beaches, seals, birds and wild flowers. There is also a small craft shop and licensed restaurant.

 

Itinerary Set out leaving our purpose built facilities at Laga Bay in Ardnamurchan at about 9.30am or if it is nearer your holiday accommodation we can pick up at Kilchoan, Drimnin or Tobermory. Head out towards the beautiful cairns of Coll passing Ardnamurchan point and the most westerly lighthouse in Britain. Ardnamurchan Point & Lighthouse   Here we often see basking sharks as well as minke whales and occasionally orca and where the grey and common seals do the "people spotting" from beautiful shell sand beaches and rocky islets. Basking Shark Minke Whale Killer Whale Seals   Then we head northwards where skipper Andy or Tom        Andy Tom uses "Laurencas' G.P.S. navigation & sophisticated sonar systems plus his years of personal experience and expert knowledge to find the plankton, shoals of small fish, huge variety of seabirds and correct seabed topography which are all indicators of cetacean feeding grounds. We are also in contact via VHF radio with other vessels in the area who help in the "watch".   Soon we approach the Island of Muck Muck , Eilean nam Muc - we arrive on Muck at the main harbour of Port Mor, where we land allowing about an hour for you to look round this lovely hebridean island & visit the local craft shop & tea room. Muck is a small Hebridean island of 1381 acres rising to a height of 449ft on Beinn Airein which is an easy climb from Gallanach. The island has been owned by the MacEwen family since 1896. Interestingly, the population has varied greatly from about 280 in the early 1800's to its present level of about 24. The geology of the island is mostly Tertiary sheet basalt with terraced cliffs, grassy ledges and white sandy beaches. It has fertile soil supporting a mixed farm and alpine plants which grow an amazing 600 metres below their usual altitude. In early summer Marigolds, Iris, Cornflowers and Bluebells abound. There are otters and seals in Gallanach Bay whilst over 80 species of birds nest on Muck. Muck is a peaceful, low lying island with a soft highland air. There are walks, beautiful scenery and a warm welcome at the craft shop and tea room selling local produce and home cooking. An ideal day out for the whole family!   Then back aboard & heading home watching out for whales as we go....
