Was following the boat about 5 - 10 meters above it, once the boat slowed down it got a bit spooked and flew away, was then hassled by a gull, disappeared off into Loch Teacuis. One of the closest encounters I have had with eagles but still could not identify the bird as it was very scruffy/molting. Assuming a jouvenile Golden Eagle. |

Hunting, surfacing with food (unidentifies prob crabs), eating and submerging again. Surfaced 4 times before heading for the shore again, last time it was very close to the boat perhaps 10meters. Surfaced 5-6 times on way back to shore figured it was travelling at around 3m/second underwater. Last seen on rocks eating as we went out of sight. |
